The International Marcé Society Conference
Sunday 6 September - Wednesday 9 September 2026
For the first time in its history, the International Marcé Society for Perinatal Mental Health is bringing its prestigious conference to the African continent — and it's happening in Cape Town, South Africa!
Our theme for this historic gathering is UBUNTU: Umuntu Ngumuntu Ngabantu – I Am Because We Are. This powerful African philosophy speaks to shared humanity, connection, and the healing power of community – values that are core to both perinatal mental health and your work.

Dear Delegate,
We are delighted to invite you to join us in Cape Town for the International Marcé Society Conference 2026.
The International Marcé Society Conference will take place at the Century City Conference Centre in Cape Town from 6 – 9 September 2026. This prominent event has long held a significant place on the academic calendar, providing a crucial platform for up-to-date content and fostering professional growth. The purpose of the conference is to bring together various strands of research in puerperal mental disorders and to provide a forum for discussion in its broadest sense.
The mission of the International Marcé Society for Perinatal Mental Health is to sustain an international perinatal mental health community, promoting research and high-quality clinical care globally. The Society advocates for everyone whose mental health is impacted during the perinatal period—including parents, partners, family members, and infants—and brings together professionals engaged in research, health services, best practice development, and prevention.
The International Marcé Society Conference promises to be an exceptional gathering, with presentations from both international and national experts.
With a strong awareness of the many disparities in Perinatal Mental Health, we are dedicated to reducing these gaps through the sharing of knowledge, expertise, and meaningful dialogue to improve patient outcomes across all levels of care. The programme is designed to attract psychiatrists, psychologists, paediatricians, obstetricians, midwives, nurses, and early childhood specialists.
This year’s event will be exclusively in-person, offering the invaluable opportunity to network, collaborate, and connect with like-minded professionals. The world-class venue provides a unique setting to engage with the latest in research, practice, and innovation in Perinatal Mental Health.
We look forward to welcoming you to Cape Town and thank you in advance for your participation in this important event.
Yours sincerely
